Last time I spoke with my father he told me a story that has been giving me the heebie-jeebies. So, naturally, I will now pass the story along to you so we can all be grossed out together.
My father works at a hospital and recalled a man who came to the hospital looking pretty ragged. He had a dingy looking cast on one leg. When the doctors asked him how long he'd had the cast for, he said he couldn't remember. They asked him where he got the cast and he told them the name of a hosptial. A hospital that had been closed for two and a half years!
The man had never gone back to the doctors, never gotten tired of it and cut the damn thing off. He'd been wearing a cast for over two and a half years! Don't stop reading now- this story gets nastier.
People had been bringing this man canned food, which he ate out of the can and then threw the can on the floor of whatever hell-hole he was living in. Thus, the reason he was now at a hosptial; There were BUGS inside his cast!!
*Pause for anyone who needs to upchuck a little*
Now, this story brings up more questions than answers. Was his muscle completely atrophied? What did the skin under the cast look like? Could he walk? What was the extent of the infestation?
Less pleasant than a tootsie pop but equally as puzzling.
