7 days until my cast comes off!
Jason has made the point that nothing will really change since I still won't be allowed to put weight on it. He will still have to fetch me things, I will still try to do more than I'm capable of, he will have to rescue me when I start swearing, etc. Basically it will be the same old same old for him. However, what he doesn't realize is that it will change EVERYTHING for me.
Getting the cast off will mean, most importantly, that I can shave my left leg! I shudder to think what it will look like under there.
I will be able to take the cam boot off every once in awhile and get a little air in there.
I will be able to start physical therapy! And paying for physical therapy, unfortunately, but that's a blog post of its own.
I will be able to see the scars and start putting *Mederma on them. Mederma is this cream that you put on scars to make them fade. After my nearly third degree burns on the same cursed ankle several years ago (Indian food. Don't ask how that happened.) I used Mederma on the scar and it has completely vanished!!! How amazing is that? I'm hoping it will do something similar to my Franken-Ankle.
I will be able to scratch the itchiness! (More on this to come- I did something bad.)
I will be able to try to bend my ankle a little.
... I'm sure I'll think of some more stuff. I'm pretty excited!
* I am not sponsored by Mederma. However, as it is quite pricey, if anyone from Mederma is reading this I'd be happy to take free stuff.
