When I was first given a cast I recieved some very troubling news.
I had thought that having my leg all wrapped up would make my skin soft. Like wearing a sock or something. Alas, this anecdote from the resident gives me nightmares.
Apparantly, a cast makes hair grow faster. So when a small child gets a cast, when they take it off the child has one really hairy arm or leg. To the point that parents look horrified and ask about it. They think there's something wrong with their kid.
Needless to say, if a pre-pubescent child has this problem, I am dreading my upcoming appointment. I'm bringing a razor with me, no joke.
Don't worry, I'll take a photo first :)
