I wore jeans today. This is amazing for two reasons.
1. I was very tired of wearing the same pair of pants every day.
2. I had put the jeans on once, decided they were too tight around the cast, and then could not get them off the cast and got stuck in them. Then decided to try again and actually made it work.
It's hard to feel pretty when you're in a cast, hunched over crutches (which are really irritating my armpits, but that's a blog post for another day), and wearing the same clothes all the time. Today I wore jeans. It was awesome.
Also today we went to a few open-houses, which means I crutched around a house, went up the stairs, crutched some more, went down the stairs, and repeat. Luckily at the second house there was a very nice agent, no other viewers, and a centrally-located kitchen chair. Down to the basement, up to the first floor, around the backyard, up to the second floor! What a workout!
I feel kind of pathetic when I crutch around and get winded so easily. I swear I've seen people crutch for miles like it was nothing. It's not nothing, I'll tell you that. Now that it's evening I can say I'm feeling the crutching. Just typing is making my shoulders ache!
That said, it's great to be out and about, wearing the jeans I refused to let the paramedics cut off, and feeling more human. It's also nice to be able to write a happy blog post for a change. :)
